Problem of Plenty at Old Trafford

What a summer it has been for Manchester United fans all over the globe. The arrival of top players like Shinji Kagawa and Robin Van Persie has added an exciting new dimension to the plethora of attacking talent already marauding the Old Trafford pitch. The transfer window started off much like the past few with calls for a Center Midfielder ruling the roost. Wesley Sneijder on his way to Old Trafford?

Wesley Sneijder what a player to have in your team, back pages of the national newspapers have had the Manchester United supporter’s tongues wagging by printing stories that Sir Alex is a big fan of the Dutch man and has pencilled in the midfielder as his marquee signing of the summer.

Certain things about this transfer story don’t quiet add up. Will Sir Alex be willing to pay big money for the Inter man, Reports suggesting that Inter Milan will demand more then £35m for the star player. Football Rivalries : Manchester derby

To begin a short series of articles about the rivalries between football clubs, I start with one that has been somewhat tame over recent years.

“United & City, joined by Geography, separated by success” is the call from the United fans who take devilish pride in draping there banners of torment at the Stretford end.
