Owen Hargreaves who has been released by Manchester United this summer after his contract expired has set out to show clubs and fans his fitness.
On the 2nd of July Hargreaves’ trainer created a YouTube channel to display Hargreaves training and showing off his fitness. The videos have so far been added daily and the exercises he is performing prove the fitness and condition of his knee, which was diagnosed with chronic tendinitis in 2008. After seeing specialists in both London and Sweden Hargreaves took one last chance by jetting off to the states to visit knee surgeon Richard Steadman, where following treatment his condition appeared to be slowly improving.
During Plymouth Argyle’s first foray into the Championship in the 2005-06 season, the club’s closest derby game was a 180-mile round trip to Cardiff City. So Swansea are promoted to the Premier League for the first time in their history following a 4-2 victory over Reading at Wembley, rounding off a weekend of thrilling finals. Given the fact that just seven seasons ago the Swans were languishing in the bottom tier of the Football League, this is a remarkable achievement. More of a bonus than facing the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea next season, however, may be the lucrative sums of money up for grabs, and already secured by the club.

Simon Grayson led Leeds United to promotion from League One to the Championship in the 2009/10 season, and narrowly missed out on the play-offs for promotion to the Premier League this season. Whilst fans may be frustrated, it seems that Grayson has done enough to continue managing the club which has gone through 10 managers in the time Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson have been at Arsenal and Manchester United.
