Was Fergie right to let them go?

Unfortunately the time comes for most of United’s players to be moved on by Ferguson to pastures new if there no longer a regular fixture in the team.

Not many of them leave with many of their best years to go and Ronaldo and Beckham may just be the only exceptions I can think of with that being the case, Ronaldo was around 25 and Beckham around 27.

So let us take a look at a few players Fergie decided to part company with and how right was he to do so..

Two more years Pep then time to go!

Pep Guardiola has done a magnificent job since taking the reigns at Barcelona. He has won an astonishing 12 trophies in just over three years at the club.

To his credit he has done everything the right way. When he joined the club he got rid of several key players to the recent success of the club and also removed some regular starters from the club.

That was his way of making it his team and changing the philosophy at the club. Aside from making Barca a wonderful passing side he has also made them a really effective defensive unit.

The two teams have been fighting each other for decades at the top with Madrid leading the head-to-head with 86 wins to Barcelona’s 83.

However Barca have 75 trophies and Madrid have one less with 74.
